Transmission Line Calculator

The COMSOL Transmission Line Calculator is a simulation tool used to analyze and design transmission lines by computing key parameters such as resistance (R), inductance (L), conductance (G), and capacitance (C) per unit length. With this application, you can model the RLGC values of twin-lead, coaxial, microstrip, and CPW lines, of different dimensions and materials. You can then use these values to find γ and Z₀, the complex propagation constant and characteristic impedance respectively. Both of these values as well as the RLGC values can then be used with the Telegrapher’s equations in order to model Transmission line behavior. By solving simplified electromagnetic field equations, the calculator provides accurate inputs for these equations, enabling you to assess signal propagation, impedance matching, and power transfer efficiency in real-world transmission line designs.
