3/14 – Anlon and Zayvinn finished sandblasting the head and the final cleaning steps. We all worked on one of the previous year’s motorcycle’s electrical system and finished up the wiring.

3/16 – We started up the previous year’s motorcycle. We accidentally messed up the timing but we learned how to reset it with top-dead center from Professor Littman.

3/21  – We started up the motorcycle again after Professor Littman replaced the carbeurator and tuned it a bit. We also went down to the shop to talk to Glenn. He said that the barrel was in good shape and just used a dingleball hone. We then lapped the head to have a flat mating surface.

3/23- We lapped the valves with both the coarse and fine lapping compound. We used bluing compound to check the seal of the seat.

3/28- We put the valves back into the head with their respective valve springs. Notably, there was an inner spring that was twisted in the other direction to prevent torsion and keep the valve going straight as it compressed.

3/29- We installed one rocker into the head and it went decently smoothly. However, there is a washer missing for the exhaust side of the rockers.

4/4- We installed the other rocker and reconnected the oil lines. Everything was a bit dirty so we cleaned it up. We reinstalled the valve covers with new gaskets.

4/11 – We found black high-temperature paint for the barrel. We also tried to start the red motorcycle from a previous year.
