We were objectless; but we took a moment to think on the new AV array at the front of the class — a flatscreen TV flanked by two little blackboards (or were they “speakers”…?)
Week 2
JN gave us some of the stuff of sound.
Week 3
We spoke about experience, with this gift from FPH on the table.
Week 4
HG brought us an object that helped us consider how sound might define boundaries (and also made us think about different kinds of animals, and different kinds of humans!). Oh, and what about belief? Confidence? Confidence games?
Week 5
SM put this on the table, and it remained basically mysterious (to DGB, anyway); though then FP offered an interpretation in his write up for the session, and that seems right? POSTSCRIPT: we learned what this is; and it is really enormously suggestive! A device for turning old paper into biodegradable flowerpots? Worthy of further consideration…
Week 6
VB brought us this multivalent object. Syncretic? Charged with power? With hope?
Week 7
SA brought us a “find” that chimed with our visit from Tina Campt…

HK brought an example of a collaborative final course-project…

What would it be to see with our fingertips?
Week 10
And CB actually brought some finger tip finger tips… with which to see (or maybe point? or which may permit one to hide the tip of the finger?); an excellent conversation starter. Or stopper? 🙂 -DGB
