Freshly cut valve seats! The blue substance is Dykem Steel Blue Ayout Fluid, a dye used to mark exactly where the valves come into contact with the seats. The original seats were cut at 45 degree angles instead of being tapered to make sure there is only one point of contact between the seat and the valve.
