Cam On (Cao Cao’s Social Media) The historical Cao Cao (at least the one presented to us in Luo Guanzhong’s novel) was a master of media manipulation, sending subtly threatening letters to the court of Sun Quan, singing seductive banquet songs on the eve of battle, and spreading baseless rumors to sow confusion amongst his (fr)enemies. Cam re-imagined this third-century war of media manipulation in twenty-first century fashion through a series of facebook posts, tweets, and tinder matches.
