Project Description
Our project is a table. It has 4 legs and two support beams for stability. On the table top(s) there are engraved crests for visually appealing designs. The table could be used to hold laptops while working, food while eating, or anything else the user may desire. Specifically, our table is a self-assembly table that can be easily and continuously put together and taken apart.
We used Tinkercad to design the table in a computerized-setting. Our materials will solely be created with the half-inch sheets of wood that the studio has available. The CNC machine will be use to engrave the logo on the table top.
During the fabrication process, we aimed to iterate through our designs with a guiding goal of self-assembly. The engineering challenge was to create pieces that could slot into one another, and could be self-assembled with minimal tools (ie, no screws, nails, etc).
