Project Description

The table top is engraved using the X-carve machine with the dimensions and lines of the Princeton Lacrosse Field. The table is also broken up into the distinct sections, which fit together using a tongue groove design. The engravings that are cut by the X-Carve are filled with different colored epoxy, which represent the different colors of the Princeton Lacrosse Field. The Table top is then fit on the bottom with bumpers and the sides with latches, so that it will fit directly on top of a standard sized fold-up table. As far as the fabrication photos are concerned, we unfortunately weren’t able to make it into the lab after the news of Princeton’s evacuation following the coronavirus outbreak. Therefore, the fabrication photos we have are outdated. We have submitted photos of a X-Carve engraving of piece of our model, but we since fully finished the engravings throughout our model and filled the engravings with epoxy. Currently, we are waiting on our wood to arrive for our final project, but having prototyped all of the different aspects of our design, the process would only involve aspects we have already attempted. Since the table top is only a surface layer wooden piece, I have only attached technical drawings of our Fushion 360 drawings of the X-Carve engravings.
