Project Description

Our box was inspired by a youtube video we found when brainstorming ideas. Although the mechanism by which the playing surface is removed is different (ours lifts, his slides), the construction of the playing surface and box is very similar. We used the same ‘flip-flop’ technique for creating the checkered pattern. Our box is different in that we have a second shelf for storing the pieces which his has individual slots for each piece. Overall, we are very happy with the execution of our chess box, but would have loved more time to make our own pieces!
