ConTextos is a platform which uses a selection of mapped course readings as pedagogic frame for the independent student to navigate texts holistically in order to understand how genre, function and grammar interact.   

This top-down, function-based instructional tool complements intermediate-advanced instruction. Its aim is to provide learners with an opportunity to explore the content of a broad range of textual samples from different authors, learning how to use them as repositories of strategies to be applied in their own writing.  

1. Browse through the structure (Estructura) of your chosen text to understand how information is presented in different written genres and discover new content.  
2. Explore a broad array of language functions (Funciones) to find out how Spanish can be used creatively to convey a message effectively and grab readers’ attention. 
3. Revise and practice grammar (Gramática) in context with interactive activities, bite sized videos and extra resources. 

 

ConTextos es una plataforma que utiliza una selección de lecturas mapeadas del curso como marco pedagógico para que el estudiante independiente navegue los textos de manera holística, con el fin de comprender cómo interactúan el género literario, la función y la gramática.

Esta herramienta que propone un análisis textual de lo general a lo particular y basado en la función, complementa la instrucción del nivel intermedio-avanzado. Su objetivo es brindar a los alumnos la oportunidad de explorar el contenido de una amplia gama de géneros y aprender a utilizarlos como repositorios de estrategias para aplicar en su propia escritura.

1. Navega a través de la estructura del texto, explora las opciones que distintos géneros ofrecen para organizar la información y descubre nuevos contenidos.
2. Explora las funciones del lenguaje y descubre cómo los autores consiguen transmitir su mensaje de forma efectiva, usando distintas estrategias para impactar, convencer y atrapar a su audiencia.
3. Revisa y practica aquellas áreas de la gramática que aún te causan problemas con actividades interactivas y videos breves.
