There the mill did its business:
It sang, roared,
It splits and crushes the seeds,
(At the mills there are such things!)
2
But keenly, very keenly
A worker monitors from behind the mill!
The beans are ground into powder
And from the heat they let out the juice,
3
The worker pours it through a long chute
into the machine.
There a humongous stone circle,
Like a carousel, suddenly started running!
4
The workers are already just so
To the cocoa— they merrily pour in butter,
Almond and sugar as well
Are put in,
And they splash milk in quickly
So that the chocolate will come out richly!
