  • Irrigated agriculture (Mesopotamia, Nile, Indus Valley, Yellow River)

The following trade routes are also indicated:

  • Bell-Beaker exchange routes, c. 2800-1800 BCE
  • amber routes after c. 1800 BCE
  • trade routes between urban areas
