“Discovering Unrecognized Lead-Smelting Sites by Historical Methods” details how Eckel et al. utilized historical methods to reveal previously unrecognized secondary lead smelters.<\/p>\n

Jacobs_Lead_study<\/a><\/p>\n

“Lead and Other Heavy Metals in Dust Fall from Single-Family Housing Demolition” quantified the amount of dust resulting from housing demolitions at different perimeters surrounding the demolition site; it measured the extent of lead contamination resulting from demolitions.<\/p>\n

Farfel_Lead_Study<\/a><\/p>\n

“A Study of Urban Housing Demolitions as Sources of Lead in Ambient Dust: Demolition Practices and Exterior Dust Fall” quantified dust fall amounts 10 meters out from demolition sites in Maryland. They found that the lead concentrations in this dust accumulation greatly surpassed the EPA’s standard of lead in residential areas.<\/p>\n

Vital Statistics Rapid Release Report 11<\/a><\/p>\n

“Early Provisional Estimates of Drug Overdose, Suicide, and Transportation-related Deaths: Nowcasting Methods to Account for Reporting Lags;” using statistical models, the National Center for Health Statistics found stark differences in drug overdose rates from 2019 to 2020.<\/p>\n
