His research explores the relationship between literature and media, with special attention to sound and experimental writings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><b>Monday, Oct. 15.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1rio Juruna (1943\u20132002), ativista amer\u00edndio de etnia Xavante foi eleito deputado federal nos estertores da Ditadura Militar (1964\u20131985) e permanece como um ponto de inflex\u00e3o hist\u00f3rico na inst\u00e1vel arena pol\u00edtica brasileira. A constru\u00e7\u00e3o e deconstru\u00e7\u00e3o de sua figura midi\u00e1tica por parte da grande imprensa destacava a inusitada presen\u00e7a de um gravador de \u00e1udio frequentemente empunhado pelo nativo. O aparelho eletr\u00f4nico era usado pelo cacique como uma esp\u00e9cie de ferramenta forense das situa\u00e7\u00f5es interacionais de fala (leia-se, embates) com as autoridades militares, \u00e0 \u00e9poca da tutelagem do \u00edndio pelo Estado brasileiro. Analisaremos a figura pol\u00edtica de Juruna \u00e0 luz de uma reflex\u00e3o sobre m\u00eddia, lingu\u00edstica interacional, escrita e oralidade. Juruna teve que lutar contra o preconceito lingu\u00edstico e proje\u00e7\u00f5es m\u00edticas do nobre e\/ou ign\u00f3bil selvagem para levar adiante seu ativismo e sua mensagem, enfrentando
