Then using blocks of wood as wedges as well as mallets\/a hammer, we slowly but surely were able to separate the gears from the shafts that they were initially pinned to. Then very briefly we took steel wire attached to a drill to the crushing rolls just to see what they might look like after treating the rust with vinegar and scrubbing the metal. See in the picture below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Next Steps: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Remove rust and paint from metal parts and treat to prevent future rust. Sand down wood and re-treat to waterproof it. Try to repair halved wooden panels using epoxy if possible. Possibly replace screws and bolts with more durable\/rust-proof bolts.
