Project Description<\/h3>\n

I am nearly done building a 15 foot boat. The style of boat is known as a “skiff” and it will be used mainly to fish in the bays and saltwater rivers of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It will be towed by a trailer which I have, and the boat will have a 20-25 hp outboard motor on it when finished.[\/vc_column_text][vc_zigzag el_border_width=”8″ css=”.vc_custom_1613275783116{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

The “stitch and glue” method of boat building. Using marine grade plywood, I traced and cut out all parts of the boat from 7 sheets of 4’x8′ by 1\/4 in and 3\/8 in. The wood was bent and connected with zip ties, bonded with thickened epoxy, then the zip ties were removed and the holes\/cracks were filled with more epoxy. The frames were then epoxy’d in and the inside of the boat was fiberglassed. Not a single nail or screw is used. The wooden rub rails were also put on recently, and the pipes for drain, electrical wires, and fuel line are currently being designed and installed.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
