Project Description:

This semester  I was able to learn a lot about some basic 3D modeling and printing techniques.

Through multiple iterations, I was finally able to print a functioning case for my keyboard. As with the design, I was able to get the case style I wanted and establish a good base for the project continue next term.

I also managed to flash the keyboard software onto the board and play around with connecting some test keys to the board. They worked although I did not want to solder all the keys onto the keyboard since next term I am planning to work on a wooden carved case.

Next term I will focus on soldering, coming up with a wooden case design, perhaps making the keyboard “hot-swappable” (as in I am able to quickly change switches which would allow me to use both cases), and look into the possibility of creating my own keycaps through 3D printing.
