Work to date:
So far, I have created a melamine template for the plexiglass at home over Thanksgiving break using a jigsaw and I will use this template to cut out the 2’ by 4’ polycarbonate. All of my ordered supplies have come in, and I also procured a cutting blade specifically to cut plexiglass, a heating strip to heat up the plexiglass so I can bend it where necessary, and lastly a usb-powered LED strip with an RGB-controlled remote that plugs directly into my center with no extra wires needing to be run. I have also modeled the Mustang logo in Silhouette Design Studio in order to make a stencil that I can spray the frosted glass effect onto.
Work to be completed:
At this point, I still need to cut out the outline in the polycarbonate and drill slots to accept the buckles which attach it to the car, spray on the frosted glass Mustang logo, and finally assemble all the pieces into a wind deflector.
Check out the Spring 2022 Projects for the completed design!!!
