Project Description

For our project, we will be making a dorm room, portable cornhole set. The inspiration for our project is that we want a fun game that we can play in our dorm room while we are self-quarantined during the COVID-19 outbreak. We both love cornhole, but do not like how much space it takes up and how difficult it is to transport. This miniature version of the game will allow for us to still get to play the game that we love, but also be able to easily transport it. Our version of miniature cornhole, due to its size and light weight, makes it a marketable product. We will be using 1/4″ oak plywood to construct the board part of the game and using the laser cuter to cut out the holes in the boards. Additionally, we will engrave designs into the game boards using the emblaser in the epics lab. We are going to laser-cut the Princeton Tiger logo into the wood boards to make it a Princeton-theme cornhole set. Each game board will be 12 inches wide and 18 inches long. The legs of the game will be 4 inches. We then plan on constructing the bean bags ourselves. To do this, we will be sewing together orange and black fabric and filling them with beans. We may sew designs into the bags to make them more aesthetic using the embroidery machine and other tools in class.
