Avocado Tool

In order to begin fabrication we first must ensure that our design for our avocado tool is an aesthetically and practically pleasing shape. It is our goal to get the handle to be comfortable in hand, so we will use the 3D printer to print a nearly 2D version of our design, and then modify the geometry of the handle until we are satisfied with the shape. Once we are happy with the 2D shape of avocado tool design, we will return to fusion in order to create the 3D shape of our handle and avocado peeler/scooper as well as the serrated edge necessary in order to cut the avocado skin. Once we have an initial design, we will print the design using the 3D printer and then repeat the design/manufacturing process until we have an avocado tool that we are pleased with aesthetically and functionally.

Simultaneously, we will continue refining our design for the avocado cutting board in Easel. Although we have already constructed the basic design with the correct scale, we still need to refine our avocado depitter hole we plan to utilize on the board. We will plan to craft this through the use of wooden spikes placed horizontally inside of the depitter hole, but may require some trial and error in order to perfect this aspect. After we are confident with our design, we will create the cutting board using the CNC wood carving machine. If we are not satisfied with the initial design, we will refine our Easel sketch and attempt constructions of the board until we are satisfied.

After we are satisfied with both the cado tool and cutting board, we will attempt to use the two in combination in order to peel and spread an actual avocado. If we are not satisfied with the combination of our creations, we will modify our designs until we are very happy with the end product.
