2<\/p>\n<p>Thursday:\u00a0\u00a0Shopclass as Soul Craft &#8211; Chapter 3<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What we did last class:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Julianne: \u00a0 worked on cutting valves for cylinder head. \u00a0 Measured distances for holes for bolts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>o \u00a0\u00a0 Used lathe to make 45 degree angles<\/p>\n<p>o \u00a0\u00a0 Used steel blue to see what material was removed<\/p>\n<p>o \u00a0\u00a0 Exhaust is the smaller valve. \u00a0 Intake is larger to take in more air.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Noelle: \u00a0 cleaned carburetor. \u00a0 Took it apart and put back together. \u00a0 Started putting it back onto red motorcycle.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Charlie: \u00a0 cut valves. \u00a0 Working on finding x and y coordinates of all the holes in the engine cover.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>o \u00a0\u00a0 Mapping holes: \u00a0 put engine cover on bed of mill. \u00a0 Found drill bits that fit holes. \u00a0 One hole is origin and you mark the subsequent holes off that. \u00a0 Put x-y coordinates into CREO and take that to the \u201claser\u201d cutter.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Connor: \u00a0 cleaned bottom end of engine. \u00a0 Disassembled and collected parts. \u00a0 Painted it and let it dry. \u00a0 Cleaned it out with air hose to get rid of sand.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emily: \u00a0 worked on fenders by polishing them with dye grinder. \u00a0 Changed to sand blasting the rust off. \u00a0 Filled the extra holes on fender with bond-o.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hannah: \u00a0 Problems locating part. \u00a0 Setting things up to get chromed. \u00a0 Putting rear wheel together today. \u00a0 Cleaned sprocket threads.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eric: \u00a0 Rethread old hub so they weren\u2019t sandblasted. \u00a0 Assembling rear hub.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 David: \u00a0 waiting for new parts to come in for transmission. \u00a0 Took demo transmission apart and correct spelling and grammar.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 Rejection of Prescriptive Rhetoric<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>o \u00a0\u00a0 Assignment to students: \u00a0 350 word essay about what is quality and
