Week 1 of working on Motorcycle<\/em><\/p>\n

Oil Cover Guard<\/p>\n

Started by taking nuts out of oil cover guard and cleaned holes + nuts<\/p>\n

Hypothesized that oil is leaking from oil tank through the cover guard’s nut holes. This would be due to worn down and damaged threads.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

Our group used a tap to rethread the holes. This would allow the nuts to fit snuggly inside leaving no room for leakage.<\/p>\n

These are the tapping tools we used.<\/p>\n

Technique: Turn into hole up and back to ensure you’re not stripping threads. Making sure to clean out excess metal grinding out from tapping mechanism with either air and by washing taps.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
