Better when some are off set (so spokes can lengthen\/shorten under strain)<\/li>\n<li>Rim tension hub compression: spokes are in tension\n<ul>\n<li>Web of 40 objects, all of them in tension. Pre-stressed structure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Unique geometry of wheel: triangular sub structures\n<ul>\n<li>Spokes positioned forward and backward, left and right, creating triangles<\/li>\n<li>Spokes in wheels also allow air movement: wheels not tipped over by wind<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Bike wheel: brake applied on rim. Motorcycle: braking at hub, so spokes have to transfer work to rim<\/li>\n<li>Spokes aren\u2019t universal; they\u2019re made for specific wheel on specific type of specific
