didn&#8217;t realize to upload them seperately, here they are at once:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>20200224<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>reports<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Littman: bought a new head, pilot jet close to running; front fork should tighten the handling on green bike<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Carbonator: ready to insert into bike, attempt to run; learned how best to adjust with adaptable wrench; love affair with duct tape \u201cif you haven\u2019t<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Detailing: sanding and priming surfaces for paint; will have to sandblast and weld a hole<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fluids: oil pump screws weren\u2019t tightened -&gt; had to pound the screws, seem to have figured out the oil leakage<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Front fork: making caps to prepare for powder coating, will need to drill threads, weld on a clamp<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Clutch: learned how to start orange cycle, noticed leak<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Top end: bad seal, dismantled the plate; largely absent due to athletics<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Electrical: sandblasted rust off some cords, unable to process load anyway, will continue diagnosing<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Transmission: worked with engine team on leaks, noticed foreign substances in clutch that\u2019ll have to be clean, tested for magnetism; Jake: \u201ceverything is problematic\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Frame: fixing the dent, has separated the fork from the swing arm, used vice to bend back in place, will be sandblasting holes soon<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>gears<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Clutch basket usually attached to shaft of transmission, which turns the gear and turns the wheel: if the torque\/load is too high, the clutch will skip and protect the engine; amount of slippage adjustable through central gears<\/p>\n<p>-&gt; has three sets of gears to provide more friction, make it more difficult to slip<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>barrel<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Gets reboarded\/fitted with an oversized piston every year<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>readings<\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>chap. 13; Taylor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Taylor: learned more about school, Church of Reason; took up majority of chapter<\/p>\n<p>Adam: subjects are alive, teaching v. research (teaching can be dull)<\/p>\n<p>Rupert: p.148; the university is a state of mind \u201cquite interesting\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kaixing: teaching is a refreshing return to the fundamentals and not necessarily a place for intellectual death (Fine Hall retiring math prof)<\/p>\n<p>Kate: visualizing history as archaeology<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin: \u201ca legal corporation cannot teach\u201d -&gt; New Hampshire tried to make Dartmouth public and failed<\/p>\n<p>Cecilia: association is still important, regardless of executive (church now bar)<\/p>\n<p>Mary: \u201cteaching behalf of reason, not the university;\u201d pastor serves the community, but more importantly god<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>chap. 14; Barry<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Taylor: object being right or wrong -&gt; manuals written by the dumbest person in the line<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin: \u201cgood maintenance delivers peace, bad maintenance disturbs it;\u201d quality of job you do is reflection of state of mind<\/p>\n<p>Kate: lose the manual, figure it out yourself<\/p>\n<p>Adam: p.165, instructions begin and end with the machine, destroying creativity -&gt; the university gets you from one point to the next, but only in one way<\/p>\n<p>Barry: Robert disturbed by how he changes (defining quality)<\/p>\n<p>Littman: dialectic discussion is to seek the truth, debate is to convince<\/p>\n<p>Kaixing: Robert is incredibly self-centered, isolates himself because he thinks he\u2019s unique \u2013 he\u2019s not, and in exchange he loses out on a lot of solidarity (students who will sacrifice a little GPA to explore)<\/p>\n<p>Tianh: something about rotisseries (sry)<\/p>\n<p>Daphne: \u201ca long-lost form of sculpture;\u2019 structurally speaking all mechanical work is art<\/p>\n<p>Reece: Robert contradicts himself frequently between mechanical and romantic<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>chap. 15; Ben<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rupert: why is Robert trusting his motorcycle to a random mechanic -&gt; needed a shop<\/p>\n<p>Taylor: rhetoric is art of language for persuasion<\/p>\n<p>Kate: he\u2019s clearly attempting to teach -&gt; writing this book, tells you to write an essay<\/p>\n<p>Cecilia: broader issue with his life; if he thinks of Quality of purpose, where\u2019s the other elements of life?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>20200226<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>reports<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Taylor: motorcycle won\u2019t start, will work on carbonator<\/p>\n<p>Barry: detached plate, attempting to fix oil leak, will work on gaskets today<\/p>\n<p>Adam: saw sandblaster for first time while cleaning spark plug<\/p>\n<p>Andy: still in process of cleaning dried material off gasket<\/p>\n<p>Daniel: cleaning springs and gasket<\/p>\n<p>Reese: finished making cover, learned how to measure pits\/use lithe\/cut threads<\/p>\n<p>Kate: took apart and pieced tgt model of transmission<\/p>\n<p>Anna: attempting to diagnose oil leak in cover as well (engine case apparently leaks in too many places)<\/p>\n<p>Jen: took apart and pieced tgt model of clutch, needs to rethread a part<\/p>\n<p>Macy: ^ditto + spindle<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin: horn wasn\u2019t shorted out, needs freer movement<\/p>\n<p>Cecilia: white paste gets dark as it removes aluminum<\/p>\n<p>Annie: cleaning<\/p>\n<p>Rupert: compression testing; put in compression tester, kickstart, check for max pressure<\/p>\n<p>Jake: worked on transmission, needs to fix a split washer<\/p>\n<p>Tianh: sandblasted frame, sand was extremely<\/p>\n<p>Daphne: also horn!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>tools<\/u>!<\/p>\n<p>Horsepower dynameter???<\/p>\n<p>Slack Kevlar rope goes at speed of torque input into system, will pull the sensors that measure torque via. pressure -&gt; since it\u2019s spinning, toque of upper rope goes up as torque of lower rope goes down<\/p>\n<p>Calculates the torque v. speed, a little bit of math gets you the power<\/p>\n<p>Running motors at half of no-load speed seem to offer best capacity, so you should load it down (going up incline, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>readings<\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>chap. 16;
