There are many other resources available to student entrepreneurs. Some of these include:
Sparkseed:
Sparkseed (www.sparkseed.org) is a nonprofit organization that supports the next generation of social entrepreneurs.
Sparkseed harnesses the passion, innovation, and talent of college students with world-changing ideas to scale the impact of their social ventures. Over the past two years, Sparkseed has provided mentoring, seed money, pro-bono consulting, and web tools to nearly 50 social innovators throughout the country.
One example of Sparkseed's impact is Jason Shah, a Sparkseed innovator at Harvard. Jason developed a website that provides free SAT tutoring to low-income students. He has already helped over 25,000 students raise their SAT scores an average of 200 points. Sparkseed gives Jason pro-bono legal services, on-going skills training, business plan feedback, and more.
Unlike many traditional non-profits, Sparkseed generates revenue internally by making equity investments in its for profit ventures and serving as a fiscal sponsor to its nonprofit ventures. This revenue model allows the success of student entrepreneurship to perpetuate and sustain itself.
