About the speaker
Louis P. Berneman is the founding partner of Osage University Partners (OUP), a venture capital firm that specializes in university spinouts commercializing disruptive science. Osage has partnered with 65+ universities and research institutions to invest in innovative startups. Since closing its first fund in 2011, a $100M fund, Osage has invested in 30+ companies ranging in sectors such as software, hardware, and life sciences. Osage focuses on transformative technologies, passionate entrepreneurs, and investing in companies solving major global challenges. Prior to OUP, Lou was managing director of the University of Pennsylvania Center for Technology Transfer and past president of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM). He has co-founded, capitalized, and led four academic startups.
