Innovation Forum 2nd prize winners named finalists in Future Energy Competition

A research innovation for cost-effective carbon capture technology, developed by fourth-year Ph.D. student Eric First, Postdoctoral Associate Faruque Hasan, and Professor Christodoulos Floudas, has been selected as a finalist in the Future Energy competition. The team placed second at the 8th Annual Innovation Forum in March.

Future Energy is an energy and clean technology pitch event focused on the development and commercialization of radical solutions to the world's energy challenges. Their discovery, which can selectively separate carbon dioxide from power plant exhaust, will be one of eight projects presented to a panel of energy-focused venture capital and strategic investors on June 13 in New York.
