What is Quizbowl?

Quizbowl is an American academic competition covering a broad range of topics that a student might encounter in a standard school curriculum. Quizbowl is played competitively between schools ranging from the elementary level to the University level, and to a lesser extent even by individuals who are no longer students.

In a single quizbowl match, two teams of up to four players compete to score the most points by answering questions. One match consists of a series of twenty toss-up questions, each followed by a three-part bonus question. In a single tournament, teams may play as many as fourteen matches against different opponents in a single day.
