Our 'Founding Leaders'
The participating executives at the following five companies are designated as Founding Leaders for their commitment to the first year of the Preparing to Lead summer internship program.
IBM Corporation (Somers, NY), Florence D. Hudson '80, Vice President of Marketing & Strategy, System z: Ms. Hudson is responsible for the strategic growth and marketing of IBM's mainframe systems for clients, partners, and the information technology and business communities around the world. Ms. Hudson has held a variety of positions in IBM, including her most recent role as executive-on-loan and IBM Vice President of Strategic Planning to the Society of Women Engineers. In that role she developed and executed new programs to inspire more girls and women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Integra LifeSciences (Plainsboro, NJ), Stuart M. Essig '83, President, CEO, and Director & John B. Henneman III, Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, and Secretary: Mr. Essig has served as President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Integra since December 1997. Before joining Integra, Mr. Essig supervised the medical technology practice at Goldman, Sachs & Co. as a managing director. Mr. Essig had ten years of broad health care experience at Goldman Sachs serving as a senior merger and acquisitions advisor to a broad range of domestic and international medical technology, pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. John B. Henneman, III is responsible for the law department, regulatory affairs, corporate quality systems, clinical affairs, business development, human resources, information management, and investor relations.
Return Path (New York, NY), Jack Sinclair, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer: Jack Sinclair was a co-founder of Return Path in 1999. He was the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Resources until he decided in 2004 that databases and PHP were much more interesting than financial statements and has been the Chief Operating Officer ever since. Prior to co-founding Return Path, Jack worked at Stern Stewart & Co. and the Financial Resource Group providing corporate finance consulting and investment banking services to small and large corporations. He graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance.
Sealed Air (Elmwood Park, NJ), David H. Kelsey '73, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer: Prior to joining Sealed Air, David served as Vice President and CFO of Oglebay Norton Company and Executive Vice President and CFO of Host Communications, Inc. From 1973 to 1994, David held various executive positions with General Electric and GE Capital. He began his career with GE in its Financial Management Program. His last assignment was Senior Vice President & Director of GE Capital Equity Funding Group.
WildPackets (Walnut Creek, CA), Mahboud Zabetian '88, Chairman: Mr. Zabetian came to the U.S. from Iran and was educated at Princeton University. While studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, he developed a strong interest in computer networking. A medium range laser networking device, and experimentation with pure optical network routing, were two of his projects during his senior year. Mr. Zabetian later worked at Kinetics, Excelan and Novell, developing TCP/IP and driver software and designing user interfaces for their Ethernet and Internet connectivity products. After leaving Novell, he developed a number of network management, performance and productivity tools, including the EtherPeek program. In April 1990, he co-founded the AG Group, Inc., now known as WildPackets, Inc., to further develop and market those products.
